City of Waterloo condemns recent hateful graffiti across area

The City of Waterloo has condemned all symbols of hate, following an increasing number of reported incidents of hate-based graffiti by the Waterloo Local Police.

Since August 5, police have reported that hate-motivated writing and graffiti have been posted in three of his cities, Waterloo Town Square,, ION LRT, and King. He reports that there were six cases. and Dupont Street.

``The city is committed to being a welcoming and caring community for all, including race, religion, ability, age, gender identity, and birth status.

Waterloo said he does not tolerate any form of hatred, including discrimination, racism and anti-Semitism, and does not allow community members to be targeted.

"In our city, we see hurtful messages on our way to work, at church, or at any time. It shouldn't happen," said Mayor Dave Jaworski.

“It is unacceptable for anyone living or visiting here to display any form of targeted hatred. A connected, united community is our best defense.”

According to the city, anyone who witnesses or experiences hateful acts can report to reportinghate.ca or the Waterloo Local Police. can be notified.
