The Indianapolis Colts placed rookie tight end Drew Ogletree on the disabled list on Thursday with a knee injury. That means he will miss the season.
He suffered a non-contact injury during joint practice with the Detroit Lions on Wednesday, The Athletic reported he tore his ACL.
Ogletree, a sixth-round draft pick from Youngstown State, impressed his camp coaching staff and in 2022 Matt as he won a role in the Ryan-led offense. It looked like Team offense during practice.
Head Coach Frank Reich said of Ogletree, "But he's a tough guy," according to the team's website. "Just getting close to him [after injury], he already wants to be on the sidelines so the team can play. Something like that — that's the guy we want.
On Twitter, Ogletree thanked people for their support.
"Everything happens for a reason," he said. "Thank you for all the love and prayers you are sending me! Just another chapter in the book!"
Colts said he will start the season Sept. 11 against the Texans in Houston. To do.
