Country Thunder hopes to break attendance records in post-pandemic payoff

Country Thunder is back after a pandemic hiatus, and music fans are excited about the return of the three-day music festival.

"I'm so excited to be back," said organizer Megan Benoit.

In 2022, 25,000 tickets are expected to be sold, reaching a new record for attendance. This is also the first time the event has sold out.

Fort It will also be held in Calgary for the first time.

"We are particularly excited about the artists. If they are coming to Calgary, we are excited to show them the downtown skyline, the beautiful area between Inglewood and downtown."

These artists included Lee Bryce, Florida Georgia Line, Morgan Warren, and the 90s. hitmaker Clay Walker.

Benoit credits his Wallen with driving record ticket sales.

"It's going to be unlike anything you've seen before," she said, detailing the star's live show.

Florida Georgia Line announced earlier this year that the band was taking a break, so Sunday's show at Country Thunder will be one of their last shows for a while. There is a possibility.

Fans are encouraged to stay hydrated with water as temperatures are expected to rise throughout the weekend. Clear plastic sealed bottles are allowed, as are empty clear plastic water bottles.

Country Thunder's gates open at noon on Friday, August 19, with the first performance beginning at 2:30 PM.
