The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in Quebec is at its highest level in nearly three weeks.
Quebec announced on Wednesday that eight more deaths had been attributed to COVID-19, bringing the total to 16,762.
The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in the province increased by 53 to 1,619.

This is the highest level of hospitalizations reported in Quebec since Sept. 8.
Of the hospitalized patients, 34 were in intensive care, an increase of two.
The province reported that 1,130 more COVID-19 cases had been confirmed through PCR testing at its clinics. However, because this method of testing is not accessible to most Quebecers, the case numbers are not representative of the situation in the province.
On Tuesday, Quebec administered 23,392 vaccine doses.
Since the start of its vaccination campaign, the province has received 24,893,405 doses, of which it has administered 21,217,314.
