Former NHL star Sean Avery’s retirement looks a lot like his playing career.

The onetime New York Ranger is on the hot seat again after TMZ Sports posted a video of Avery freaking out on a group of teenagers in Hollywood Hills, Calif.

In the video, Avery — showing the same grace he exhibited during his 12 campaigns in the NHL — confronts a group of people, including teens, over how they parked in front of a home he was housesitting.

He apparently believed the teens had purposefully blocked the driveway. And then he unleashed his verbal attack.

“The next time one of you guys parks your cars there, I’m going to snap your windshield wipers off,” Avery told the teens.

One asked him if he was “crazy”.

Avery responded: “100 percent. Ask around.”

The videographer chimed in: “You don’t talk to little kids like that.”

Avery fired back: “You can kick or punch me … You’re too f— short to actually challenge anyone.”

But the man continued to ask why Avery was talking to the teens that way when he wasn’t their parent. Avery had an answer.

“If this was my kid, I’d pull his f— hair into the house and I’d tell his dumb f— friends to go home,” Avery said.

TMZ said the cops were not called in connection with the incident.

The 42-year-old North York born enforcer was never far from controversy during his playing career or after retirement. He once suggested that former Maple Leafs defenceman Dion Phaneuf was getting “sloppy seconds” when he started dating actress Elisha Cuthbert.

More recently, Avery was found guilty in June of slamming his scooter into a car in Manhattan. It was part of his bizarre one-man vigilante campaign against drivers who blocked bike lanes.

“If I need to be the poster boy for defending the bike lanes, I will absolutely do that. We need to be able to just bike in freedom,” Avery told the New York Post in 2019.

During his journeyman NHL career, Avery toiled for the Rangers, Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, and Dallas Stars. He twice led the league in penalties.
