The Keremeos Creek wildfirewas described as having started on Friday night,BC Wildfire Servicesofficials said Saturday morning that the global told the news.
Fire Intelligence Officer Brian Zandberg says the crew is trying to build a containment line to contain it, but a large blaze is slowly growing northward.

Saturday morning update According to BCWS, there were 260 wildland firefighters, 166 BC fire department structural protection personnel, 15 helicopters and 42 heavy equipment at the scene.

According to BCWS, Saturday's weather forecast includes strong upper ridges, clear skies, and highs of around 26 degrees Celsius, along with light north-northeast winds.
The current size of the fire is 5,903 hectares, making him one of the largest wildfires in the state.

"We are doing our best to ensure that there are no further warnings or orders," said Zandberg, adding that some areas of the fires have cooled significantly. "We are also doing our best to get people home as soon as possible."
