Edmonton woman charged with speeding, impaired driving with child passenger

An Edmonton woman was stopped for speeding and charged with criminal charges.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Fort Saskatchewan RCMP police officers saw a vehicle driving "at breakneck speed" on Highway 16 in Lamont County, east of Sherwood Park, Alta. clocks, the RCMP said: Monday news release.

A police radar measured a female driver driving 193 km/h in a 110 km/h zone.

Further investigation revealed that the driver was an alcoholic and had a child in her passenger seat, according to the RCMP.
