Los Angeles (AP) — California judge in Tesla CEO Elon Musk's adult daughter asked me to change the name and gender on the birth certificate.
Vivian Jenna Wilson filed her petition with the Los Angeles County Superior Court the day after she turned 18 in April.
She cited her gender identity and the apparent disgust of her father as reasons for her change.
"I no longer live with my real father, or I don't want to have any form, form, or relationship," she wrote in her petition.
Judge Rafael Onkeko approved the petition in a court in Santa Monica on Wednesday after no one objected to the change. The hearing scheduled for Friday has been cancelled. The court order said a new birth certificate would be issued to reflect the change.
Vivian will legally use the surname of her mother, Canadian writer Justin Wilson, who married Mask from 2000 to 2008.
The couple had five children, the oldest of whom died. As an infant. Vivian has twin brothers.
