BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) — A family of students who died of alcoholism on Thursday, swearing friendship, claiming that a school in Ohio knew they didn't stop the haze in Greek. Lives there and has to take responsibility for suing Bowling Green State University.

The university saw the death of Stoneforts at the age of 20 as a tragedy, but called the family proceedings futile. In a written statement, BGSU spokesperson Alex Solis suggested that a proceeding in Ohio's Claims Court would undermine efforts to eradicate school possession.

Family tort complaints seek compensatory damages and refer to requests for more aggressive measures to cease possession on college campuses.

Fortz's death has already led to criminal convictions against several fraternity members and stricter penalties for possession in Ohio. The university also hired a haze prevention coordinator and made changes such as expelling the fraternity that Fortz was attending.

His parents settled part of a wrongful death litigation against fraternity and some of its members for $ 2.4 million.
