Countdown to 1st Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) As it looms, vendors have high hopes after being sidelined by the pandemic. Since August 2019.

It's a different dynamic than any other year for everyone working on it.
Preparations are in full swing for his 18-day celebration, which begins on August 19th.
But this summer tradition has been pushed to the brink by his two COVID-19 cancellations.
The nonprofit has lost his 25% of its full-time staff.
With the help of the government, the Board was considering layoffs, but we managed to get through.

Brown said of what would have happened without help, "We would have died in the water. We held it and here we are." But it was a challenge," he said.
A vendor like Derek Brazier is ready for that challenge.
He's behind his Tiny Tom's Donuts.
``CNE is like family to us. ' said Brazier.
After people were denied end-of-summer celebrations at three of The Ex's locations due to public health restrictions, he said he was expecting large crowds.
"The second year was just depressing. Without a trip to The Ex, it feels like your year is not complete.
But CNE Recruiting is a little more difficult this year, as the job market is tight, as is the case for many companies outside the company.
