The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene — at Brandon Gate Dr. and Goreway Dr. — and was co-operating with police after the 5:17 a.m. incident.

Peel Regional Police Sgt. Jennifer Trimble said the Major Collision Bureau had taken over the investigation and the outcome is pending.

Given the time of day, Trimble, who noted days are getting shorter, said the lack of light could have played a factor.
