Firebomb severely damages bar in Montreal North

A firebomb severely damaged a bar in Montreal North early Wednesday and forced the temporary evacuation of dwellings above the establishment.

Montreal police said the incident occurred at 5:15 a.m. at a on Fleury St. near St-Michel Blvd. No injuries were reported.

Witnesses said that just prior to the fire they heard the sound of breaking glass and saw a car carrying one or several people speeding away from the scene.

Fleury St. is closed between St-Michel Blvd. and J.J.-Gagnier St. as investigators examine the site.
