Austin Riley and William Contreras each hit two home runs at a time, and the Atlanta Braves beat St. Louis Cardinals 7-1 on Tuesday.

The Power Surge was part of a five-run uprising — the second straight game in which the Braves created a five-run inning. The Braves have begun a four-game series, winning six of the last eight games and winning two in St. Louis.

Riley hit the 21st home run, the third most in the National League, 3-4, and Contreras hit the 10th home run for the first time since June 12.

The attack benefited Ian Anderson (7-5), who had lost two games in a row. Anderson threw 5 innings and allowed 1 run with 8 hits, 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. Anderson struggled in the final round, but retired Dylan Carlson with first baseman, ending the threat packed into the base.

The bullpen finished the game with two innings from Collin McHugh, one inning from Tyler Matzek and one inning from Jackson Stephens.

St. Louis starter Andre Parante (2-4) pitched just 3 2/3 innings, hitting the season with runs (7) and hits (10), the Braves.

The Cardinals bullpen shut down the Braves on the rest of the road. Packy Naughton (2 1/3 innings), Junior Fernandez (1 inning) and Zach Thompson (1 inning) have finished the match.

Cardinals recorded Anderson's run-off in the first two-out rally. There were three straight singles in St. Louis, with Nolan Gorman driving at Paul Goldschmidt.

The Braves replied with five runs in the bottom of the first inning. Ronald Acuña Jr. was single, second stolen, third in wild pitch and scored on Matt Olson's single. Riley followed on the opposite field 2 run home run to the right. Marcell Ozuna doubled the score when Contreras started a two-out home run.

Atlanta scored two more times in four. Olson hit infield hits, doubling Michael Harris II, who stole second and third bases. Olson doubled by Riley.
