Two people were arrested and a large quantity of weapons and illegal drugs were seized in a raid by Gatineau police on Monday at an apartment on Rue St-Rédempteur in the city’s Hull sector.
Police said the raid was quickly put together following information received from a source.

A 24-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were arrested. The man remains in custody after an appearance at the Cour du Québec.
He faces two charges of negligent use of a firearm, six counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, one charge of possession of an explosive substance, along with drug charges.
The woman was released with conditions, on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
Among the items seized by police were: two home-made silencers; a large quantity of ammunition, a Molotov cocktail, a number of long guns, two of them with cut-off barrels, two machetes, as welkl as quantities of cocaine, meth, psilocybin and various doses of prescription drugs.
People facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It’s our policy not to name those charged unless we plan to follow the case through the justice system or it’s of significant public interest to identify them.
