Gatineau police have asked for the public’s help in the search for a 21-year-old man with autism spectrum disorder.
Salvador Zapata was last seen at about 1:30 p.m. Monday at Winterlude in Parc Jacques-Cartier in the Hull sector, police said. He has difficulty expressing himself and in speaking, and is not inclined to communicate with people, police said, but they added he understands English and is not violent. They said he travels on foot.

Zapata was described as white, about 5-foot-3, thin with short, dark hair and brown eyes. When last seen, he was wearing a grey toque, black coat and pants, and a blue backpack with red and yellow accents.
Anyone who locates Zapata was asked to contact Gatineau police immediately at 819-246-0222 instead of attempting to approach him.
