WYATT, MO. Authorities said the gas explosion killed his father and injured his mother, two brothers and five other relatives.
After her family's home in the southern Missouri town of Wyatt caught fire on Monday, the girl was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, for treatment. I was. Wyatt is about 175 miles (280 kilometers) northwest of Nashville.
Tennessee officials notified the Mississippi County Sheriff's Office in Missouri on Thursday of the girl's death, sheriff Capt. Barry Morgan said. He declined to release her name, but revealed that her father was Corey Coleman, who died shortly after the explosion. She said that her six-month-old sister was in critical condition and was fighting for her life. The girl's 1-year-old brother is also hospitalized, along with several cousins and an adult relative, and she is in stable condition.
Morgan said the cause of the explosion was narrowed down to two of his propane-fueled appliances: a stove and a water heater. But he said the explosion was so bad investigators were unable to narrow down the cause.
"This is purely he's 100% an accident," he said, I explained that cheating and drugs were ruled out. "Just a Random Accident"
