Guelph Dental to provide free dental care to those without money

Guelph Dental helps people who cannot afford dental care.

Westwood and Starwood Dental are hosting a free dental day on Friday, September 9th at their Willow Road offices.

Free Dental Day is open to anyone over the age of 18, according to a news release.

The first 50 people who arrive will get a free cleaning, filling or extraction.

"We typically see close to 100 patients," said Lisa Moore, her director of marketing for Dental. "I've been queuing since the night before. But I'll do my best with the time allotted that day."

Their Free Dental Day is in its 7th year, but they haven't been there in years due to the pandemic. is.

Mr. Moore said many people do not go to the dentist because of the cost.

"Usually for cleaning it would probably cost him $200 minimum," said Moore. “For filling or extracting, it can be upwards of $400.”

Moore said that to ensure the facility was safe for patients and staff, personal protective equipment was installed in the office. He said he would prepare tools and put in place COVID-19 protocols.

She said she has 15 corporate sponsors to hold the event.

"We are so excited to be back and doing this again for our community."
