London — Veteran guitarist Carlos Santana died on stage at a US concert on Tuesday night after being defeated by heat exhaustion and dehydration.
At the time of the incident, the Grammy-winning 74-year-old was playing at the outdoor Pine Knob Music Theater in Clarkston, Michigan. According to a statement on his website, he was taken to the emergency department of the McLaren Clarkston Medical Center for observation and was on track.
"Thanks to everyone for your precious prayers. Cindy and I just have to ease it," Santana told his wife, drummer Cindy Blackman. Mentioned and wrote on his Facebook page.
"I forgot to eat and drink water, so I fainted with dehydration. Blessings and miracles to everyone."

The statement quoted Santana's manager Michael Vlionis, who said Wednesday's guitarist show in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania would be postponed at a later date.
