Halifax police say the man is facing mischief on a fake phone call on 911

Halifax Regional Police said the man was charged with making the wrong911phone call.

Police say they responded to his residence on Francis Street in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia at around 10:30 pm. After a caller reported a robbery on Friday and said someone was shot in the house.

As a result of the investigation, there was no robbery and no shooting.

A 22-year-old man was successfully arrested on the scene.

Police say he is facing the crime of public mischief.

The man has been released and will appear in court at a later date.
