Snow will come on the heels of of windstorms of up to 90 kilometres per hour.
Significant amounts of precipitation and wind gusts of up to 90 kilometres per hour are expected when a low-pressure system sweeps the province on Wednesday, with special weather statements issued by Environment Canada for Montreal, the Montérégie, the Eastern Townships, Laurentians, Mauricie and the Beauce.
While the rain is expected to ease off Wednesday night, the winds will continue into Thursday and daytime temperatures will remain above freezing until Sunday.

Regions near the St. Lawrence River, and Saguenay River and east of the Gaspé peninsula can on Wednesday expect an as yet undetermined amount of snow followed by rain.
In the Côte-Nord region, precipitation will stop Thursday but windy conditions will persist until Friday. Environment Canada warns that a rapid accumulation of snow could make travel in some areas difficult.
As of late Monday, the regions of Outaouais, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Haute-Mauricie and Bas-Saint-Laurent were not subject to any weather statements.
Tuesday, expect a mainly cloudy high of 0 C during the day, with a morning wind-chill of minus-9 and a low of minus-4 C at night.
