OSLO — Shooting at a nightclub on Saturday Two people were killed and 14 were injured. On a street near the Norwegian capital, Oslo, Norwegian police said.
Police told reporters that the suspect, who appears to be the only perpetrator, was arrested.
The crime scene extended from a London pub via a nearby club to a nearby street where the suspect was arrested minutes after the shooting began, police spokesman Tore Barstad said. Told the newspaper Aftenposten.
The London Pub is a popular gay bar and nightclub in the heart of Oslo.
"I saw a man arrive with a bag, he picked up a gun and started shooting," reported Olav Roenneberg, a journalist at the Public Broadcasting Corporation NRK.
It was not immediately clear what the motive for the attack was.
Oslo will host its annual pride parade later on Saturday.
"It has been confirmed that two people have died," Oslo police said in a tweet.
Police said about 14 people were taken to the hospital and several were seriously injured.
Photos published by newspaper VG, broadcaster NRK, etc. showed a large gathering of emergency response personnel outside the London pub, including police and ambulance workers.
The helicopter floated above the center of Oslo while ambulance and police sirens were heard throughout the city.
A university hospital in Oslo said it was at a red light after the shooting.
