'Amazing': 9-year-old Calgary boy uses lemonade stand to help others

Nothing beats a sweltering day in Calgary on Thursday. A nice cold glass of homemade lemonade.

And we offer something truly special for a 9-year-old boy that offers a break from the heat and the opportunity to help others at the same time.

London Boucher runs his lemonade stand outside his home on the 4600 block of 81 Street N.W.

The Boucher will donate all proceeds of the day to the Calgary Humane Society.

"Because space for animals is scarce, and some are really in need." he said.

For the second year in a row, Boucher put his heart into something good.

Last summer's sales of his lemonade brought him $380 to the Kids Cancer Care organization.

"There were some children my age who were suffering from cancer and I wanted to help them," said Boucher.

This is part of a series of recent fundraising projects the boy has done.

"I always wanted to help in London," said mother Andrea Boucher. "Everything from donating used hockey equipment so kids in need can play to participating in fundraising for Ukraine."

Lemonade like Pat Davidson Stand customers appreciate Boucher's efforts to help others.

"It's great when young people help others. It's about being a little selfless," Davidson said.

London Boucher said he always enjoys doing charity projects.

"It makes me feel better because I'm helping others," he said.
