Jewelry thief caught on video stealing $2 million in jewelry from New York store

Police are looking for four masked men who stole over $2 million worth of merchandise last week from a jewelry store in theBronx.

A lightning-fast robbery occurred around 2:40 PM on Friday. At Rocco's Jewelry, New York police said. The shop is located on a busy boulevard, just off Fordham University and just off the New York Botanical Gardens.

Footage shows one man being harassed into Rocco's Jewelry by an employee, holding the door open for several seconds before three other men rush into the store.

Inside, three masked men dressed in black yelled, "Using a hammer They destroyed display cases and removed a large amount of diamond jewellery,"police said in a news release.

Multiple outlets reported that the total value of the jewels stolen from Rocco's was approximately $2.15 million.

The whole robbery was done in about 30 seconds. No injuries have been reported.

A witness who spoke to CBS New York said the robbery appeared to have been planned because of the speed with which it was carried out.

"They came in, boom-boom-boom, in and out," said one man.

The NYPD is seeking public assistance in identifying the four men and is offering a bounty of up to $3,500.
