After James Franco was cast as Cuban revolutionary Fidel Castro in his next film, John Leguizamo calls for "no more appropriation."
After it was revealed earlier this week that the 44-year-old Californian will play Castro in his indie project "Alina of Cuba," he hit it off.

Written by Jose Rivera and Nilo Cruz, it tells the life story of Fernandez, a Cuban exile and social activist who discovered at the age of ten that she was Castro's daughter.
Fernandez became an anti-communist activist, was repeatedly arrested while trying to flee Cuba, and was banned from traveling abroad. She defected to Spain in her 1993 and settled in Miami.
The film will reportedly begin filming on August 15 in Cartagena and Bogota, Colombia.
Producer John Martinez O'Phelan told Deadline: His goal was to find someone Alina Fernández strongly endorsed, as well as an actor who closely resembled the real Castro in appearance.
