Massive blackout reported in downtown Toronto center

Hydro One said Thursday it was investigating an issue affecting power toToronto Hydroand its downtown customers.

The hydropower company tweeted about the power outage just before 1pm.

"We are currently experiencing a major power outage in downtown Toronto and are working with@HydroOne to address it," said Toronto Hydro.

Toronto residents living in Yonge-Dundas Square, in the downtown core near the front, near the hospital row, Water, including Toronto Metropolitan University, said they had no power.

Toronto Police also reported the outage, saying the cause was unknown at this time.

These alert the driver to consider the intersection as a four-way stop when the traffic lights are off.

"We will update you as soon as we have more information," he said Hydro One.
