Lethbridge Fire Department issues reminder after multiple fires caused by smokeable materials

The Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Service is reminding residents of the importance of proper disposal ofsmoking itemssuch as cigarettes.

"So far this year, roughly speaking, the city may have lost nearly $4 million to $5 million in structures." Fire protection officer Troy Hicks said.

"I think there are more than three single-family homes, but there were also a few multi-family homes."
