All praying and thanking God in professional sports is a mockery of religion. Yes, and should be stopped. The parable of David and Goliath is about God helping the oppressed overthrow the oppressor. Given all of mankind's current problems, I hope deciding who wins the World Series isn't on God's to-do list.

Reliable data show that most gun violence in Canada is perpetrated by criminals with handguns smuggled into Canada. The CBSA and police do a great job of minimizing gun smuggling, as they do drug smuggling, but they can't completely prevent gun smuggling. The federal response to gun violence in Canada is a legal gun owner who has undergone rigorous training and has been vetted by the RCMP through phone conversations with acquaintances and spouses of owner and license applicants. It is intended for And banning firearms that are not the choice of criminals, and in some cases, banning firearms that have been banned for years, makes no sense when it comes to curbing gun violence in the streets. Our federal government seems to ignore street violence. why is this The federal government is covertly crafting nefarious plans to disarm the populace, and may be using street violence to support such plans.

Biden is confused… again
on "checkmate" ( Letter to the Editor, August 15): This writer is confused.Biden did not condone Pelosi's trip to Taiwan...he said it on liberal television and the media. Then he went off on a whim, saying, "What harm can it do?" This is an example of President Biden. I am confused and have no clue.
