Liudmila Samsonova hit her 10 aces and won 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, giving her career won her WTA title for the second time. Kaia Kanepi, the sixth seed in her championship match at the City Open in Washington, D.C.

The 23-year-old Samsonova made her 18th inning unforced for her errors. He recorded 27 winners and won in 1 hour and 46 minutes. She won another career title in Russia at the German Open in June 2021.

Estonian native Kanepi recorded her five aces out of 16 winners and committed 19 unforced her errors. The 37-year-old was chasing her fifth title of her career.
