LANGLEY, BC— Greater Vancouver Zoo It states that a "small number" of wolves have gone missing after being thought to have been released as a result of "malice", but poses no danger to the public.

According to the zoo's website, a number of wolves were spotted outside their enclosures in the morning and are working with BC. While the Ranger Service "contains" animals, the Langley RCMP investigates what appear to be instances of trespassing and vandalism.

The zoo is located in the community of Aldergrove, approximately 55 kilometers east of Vancouver.

Most of the wolves have been returned to the animal health and welfare team, according to the zoo.

The zoo, which announced its closure Tuesday morning through his Instagram and Facebook accounts, has nine adult wolves and six of her cubs.

The Ministry of the Environment says anyone who sees wolves roaming free should keep their distance and call 1-877-952-7277 to report.

The Ministry had previously said only one wolf had escaped.
