HAMILTON — A 41-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder after police said the body of a man in his 60s was found at his home in Hamilton on Sunday.

Hamilton Police say officers found the man at the Catherine Street South residence and considered the incident a homicide.

They say the identity of the body has yet to be confirmed due to the level of decomposition. Additional steps will be taken to identify it, and this process could take several weeks.

Hamilton Police spokeswoman Jackie Penman said the apartment occupant and the suspect — identified as Jonathan Lewis — were connected, but did not provide further details.

Police are not looking for other suspects and believe this is an isolated incident.
