A 43-year-old man from Ladysmith has been charged with attempted murder after shots were allegedly fired at a vehicle during a road-rage incident in Nanaimo.
Witnesses told police two drivers were involved in the incident while headed north on the Nanaimo Parkway early Sunday afternoon.

When they stopped at a red light at Boxwood and Northfield roads, a man got out of his vehicle with a handgun and fired into the other car.
Both drivers took off and no one was injured, but police were flooded with 911 calls.
Investigators were led to a home in the Departure Bay area, where they talked to a 17-year-old who said he was in the car that was shot at. His older-model Pontiac Sunfire was found to have damage consistent with having been struck by bullets.
RCMP officers from Nanaimo and Ladysmith detachments tracked down a suspect and his older-model Jeep Wrangler in the Cedar area. He was taken into custody without incident.
Several guns were found and seized from the Jeep.
Reza Rahiman appeared in provincial court in Nanaimo on Monday and was charged with attempted murder and discharging a firearm with intent to injure. He is in custody.
