A Lower Mainlander jumped and disappeared while swimming with friends and family in a lake near Sixth Avenue and Beach Avenue
On Monday afternoon at Okanagan Lake, a 57-year-old man jumped into the water and failed. , drowned. on the surface.
A Lower Mainland resident was swimming with friends and family in a lake near his 6th Avenue and Beach His Avenue in Peachland.
After the man plunged into the lake, he was unaware of his disappearance for approximately 30 minutes. He was found after friends and family members of the victim contacted lifeguards who launched a search.
Two lifeguards and his B.C. paramedics attempted to save him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
"This is a sad time for the family and friends of this gentleman and the RCMP is saddened by this unfortunate accident," said Kelowna RCMP Const. Released by Mike Della Paorella.
Two of his three drowning victims know how to swim, according to the BC Seafarers' Association.
