A 59-year-old man is wanted for a string of armed bank heists in the southwest end of the city in recent months.
Toronto Police say officers responded to seven robbery and holdup calls in the South Etobicoke and Southwest Old Toronto areas between Nov. 4, 2022 and Jan.30, 2023.

“A man entered the banks and approached the tellers wearing a mask to disguise his identity,” Insp. Richard Harris, who heads up the Holdup Squad, said in a statement released Thursday. “The man indicated he was armed with a gun and demanded cash.”
He said the bandit “produced a handgun” in several of the robberies.
“In six of the seven robberies, the man obtained a quantity of cash and fled the banks,” Harris said.

Holdup Squad investigators have since identified a suspect.
Daniel Clatney, of Toronto, is wanted for five counts of robbery with a firearm, two counts of robbery, seven counts of wearing a disguise with intent and seven counts of failure to comply with a release order.
The suspect is described as 6-foot-2, with an average build, and he often attempts to disguise his identity.
“He is considered armed and dangerous,” Harris said.
