Man arrested in connection with Carjack in Toronto: Police

A 33-year-old Toronto man was arrested in connection withhijackinginToronto, police say.

Toronto police said they had received reports of carjacking in the Royalcrest Road and Martin Grove Road areas on March 2, 2021.

Police said the victim was driving a car when he parked in the parking lot.

Officers said the woman had taken her seat in front of her for a "prepared meeting."

"At the same time, a man jumped into the back of the victim's car," the news release said.

Officers said the man had begun to attack the victim with a hammer.

Police said the victim was able to get out of the car and the man kicked it out of the scene.

According to police, investigators have identified the suspect.

Police said on June 22, 33-year-old Andy Hakh was arrested.

He was charged with offensive weapons robbery, weapons assault, and possession of property gained by crime.

Police said he appeared in court on June 23.
