A man accused of shooting on Sunday at Williams Lake Stampede

Jordell Anthony Sellars was charged with attempted murder and firing firearms to endanger life.

According to RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Kris Clark, police were called to the Williams Lake stampede grounds on Sunday afternoon at around 3:30 p.m. after reports of a shooting.Two people were suffering from unspecified injuries have been taken to a local area hospital and one suspect is in custody.

Sunday afternoon at Williams Lake Stampedeshooting charged with attempted murder Two people were injured, including a male bystander.

Williams Lake RCMP Spokesperson Sgt. Darren Dodge said the man was arrested on the scene after a bright red shooting behind Stampede's main stadium at the end of the final day of the event.

Hundreds of people were forced to evacuate the area.

He said police believed the shooting was targeted, but also injured an uninvolved bystander.

Both victims are expected to survive their injuries.

British Columbia spokesman Dan McLaughin said prosecutor Dan McLaughin was charged with attempted murder and firing firearms to endanger life.

Cellars will be detained and will appear in the Williams Lake District Court on July 11.
