Oakville shooting: man dead, woman seriously injured

The suspect fled the scene in a car shortly after the shooting.

A man was killed and a woman seriously injured. Taken early Friday morning in West Oakville.

At 1:00 a.m., Halton Police were summoned to Belt He Lane and Littlefield Road areas of Bronte Road. North of QEW, after receiving numerous calls reporting gunshots, A.

Police found two of his victims, one male and one female, in their twenties.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police believe this was a targeted shooting.

The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle shortly after the shooting.

The crime scene at the new townhouse complex, still partially under construction, was huge as police believe the male victim was tracked down before being murdered.

Gunshots hit homes and cars, and police used metal detectors to search for bullets.

On Friday morning, Al-Azhar his Sayid was helping move his brother to a neighboring townhouse near the shooting site.

Said said he heard many gunshots in the early morning, but he could not count them.

His younger brother moving in next door wasn't the way he wanted it.

"I'm surprised that this happened here. We live right behind the police station. The police came pretty quickly," Said said.

Nabaz said he knew something was up when his dog started barking.

"She doesn't know what the gunshots are, but she's noticed all the police cars. It's not comfortable anymore," Nabaz said.

The Homicide Division is currently investigating.
