The RCMP in southern Alberta states that the driver of a passenger car died after a clear head-on collision with a cicada carrying flammable liquids.
Police said they received a 911 call on Thursday evening about a crash on Highway 41 North, just south of Schuller's settlement.
They say the fact that the cicadas were carrying flammable liquids created a significant risk to the public, and roads were closed for several hours in both directions to allow cleaning and further investigation. I say that.
