Man rescued from Lake Ontario day after trio saved: Toronto Police

A citizen heard the man's calls for help and threw him a life preserver.

For the second day in a row there has been a water rescue from Lake Ontario.

Toronto Police say a man fell into the lake in the area of Queens Quay W. and Martin Goodman Trail on Tuesday at 4:06 a.m.

A citizen heard the man’s calls for help and threw him a life preserver.

Toronto firefighters helped the man out of the water and paramedics took him to hospital. It was not clear how he ended up in the water.

On Monday morning, the Toronto Police Marine Unit rescued three people who fell into the waters of Lake Ontario.

Police say two people who were skating fell through the ice and then a third person who tried to help them also fell in.

All three were expected to make a full recovery.
