Hajtamiri was kidnapped from a Wasaga Beach home a few weeks after the Richmond Hill assault
York Regional Police have made a second arrest in the violent December 2021 attack on Elnaz Hajtamiri, who was kidnapped weeks later.
On Dec. 20, police say two men attacked Hajtamiri in the underground parking lot of her King William Cres. home in Richmond Hill. The men were masked and beat Hajtamiri about the head with a frying pan, cracking her skull.

The intervention of a passerby caused the assault to end and the attackers fled in a stolen car.
Hajtamiri was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Riyasat Singh, 23, was arrested in April, and a Canada-wide warrant was issued for Harsheep Binner, 24, who police revealed Tuesday had been arrested on Sept. 19.
Both Brampton men are charged with attempted murder, attempted kidnapping, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and mischief over $5,000.
After the Richmond Hill attack, Hajtamiri — in fear of her life — was staying with family in Wasaga Beach.
On Jan. 12, 2022, she was kidnapped from a Trailwood Place residence by three men dressed in police gear who said they had a warrant for her arrest. Hajtamiri was forcibly thrown into an SUV, which proved to be stolen.
She has been missing since that night.
Hajtamiri’s former boyfriend Mohamed Lilo, 35, of Quebec, was charged by OPP in July with kidnapping in the case.
He was also charged with attempted murder and attempted kidnapping over the first assault on Hajtamiri in Richmond Hill.
