Multiple people were taken to hospital Saturday night after a man allegedly attacked them with a machete, according to Vancouver Police investigators.
Police confronted a man with a machete in the Granville Street area, leading to shootings by VPD officers.

Police Suspect said four victims of the machete attack; they remain hospitalized with "life-changing injuries".
A suspect was also injured in the shooting and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Around 10:00 pm, I got a call from the Vancouver Fire and Rescue Service. After a man set fire to his room in a boarding house near Granville and Smithee streets," said Const Tania Vicintin.

"The man then attacked and stabbed four people inside the building. When police arrived, They were confronted by a suspect who was still armed with a weapon.
"Police opened fire and the suspect was injured." Independent Bureau of Investigation. We are currently investigating.
