Memorial Cup Champion Sea Dogs parades St. John

Thursday afternoon, hundreds ofSt. John Seadogfans went out to the streets to celebrate the local team.

Seadogs defeated the Ontario Hockey League Hamilton Bulldogs 6-3 and won the2022 Memorial Cupon Wednesday.

To properly celebrate winning the trophy at Home Ice, the team cruised uptown for a festive parade.

"I'm overwhelmed by joy and excitement. Seadogs, it's great to win the Memorial Cup again, but it's great to win at home," said one of the overjoyed fans. Told Global News.

Divided into two groups, half of the team was loaded onto an old school St. John fire truck, and the rest of the team members jumped on a Canadian Coast Guard boat and were pulled into the vehicle.

Together, the two vehicles headed down King Street to Area 506 Waterfront Container Village.
