Drugs, weapons, stolen property were recovered and dozens of arrests were made last year
Tips to Crime Stoppers in led to the seizure of more than $1.4 million in illicit drugs and other property, 73 arrests and more than 100 charges laid last year in Metro Vancouver.
The anonymous crime-fighting phone and online program received more than 4,000 tips in 2022, including more than 500 linked to gang activity and illegal weapons, said Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers in an annual statistics report.

“Without those tips, these crimes might never have been solved,” said Linda Annis, the Metro Vancouver executive director.
“We accept anonymous tips 24/7 and in 115 languages regarding any crime. We don’t want to know your identity or where you’re from,” said Annis. “We just want information that can help police to solve crimes, and it really works.”
Anyone with information about a crime can report it anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), through the P3 Crime Stoppers app, at solvecrime.ca or through Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers’ Facebook page.

• Property and illicit drugs seized: $1.4 million

Total number of tips, all crimes: 4,068
• Tips about gang activity and illegal guns: 556

In its 39 years, tips to Metro Crime Stoppers have led to over 8,400 arrests and a half-billion dollars in property and drugs being recovered.
