New York Mets right-hander Carlos Carrasco is expected to miss three to four weeks with a low-grade left oblique strain, the team announced Tuesday.

Carrasco underwent an MRI on Tuesday morning, a day after he started his game against host Atlanta Braves feeling a muscle strain in his left side.

"I've been through a lot of [injuries], but this is the first time I've felt something like this," Carrasco said, according to the New York Post. 21} The 35-year-old Carrasco allowed three runs on four hits, including home runs by William Contreras and Eddie Rosario, in the second inning of a 13-1 retreat.

Carrasco, his leader on the team this season, is 13-5 and has a 3.92 ERA in his 23 appearances on the mound.

Carrasco has a 102-83 record with a 3.87 ERA in 277 appearances (230 starts) with the Cleveland franchise (2009-20) and the Mets.
