The report outlines how mistakes and disobeying the law can drive up rates and result in motorists missing out on savings.
A big one is texting while driving which could drive up an annual premium by $1,814. Missing payments can result in a $934 increase — or a 36% jump — in annual premiums.
Failing to put winter tires on your vehicle can drive up your insurance bill by $137.
“A single mistake like one of these might not seem like a big deal, but it can really impact how much a driver pays in insurance premiums, even if they switch insurers,” says Kelsey Hawke, RATESDOTCA insurance expert.
