It used to be, so we'll just go with it.
The Romans were pretty straightforward when naming the months: Martius, Aprilis, Maius, Iunius, Quintilis, Sextilis, September, October, November, and December. Then Julius Caesar came along and reformed everything for reasons of the sun and science and such. That bumped October to Month 10, but the name stuck.
Speaking of things getting stuck, it looks like summer isn’t quite done with us. Expect a high of 23 C with a mix of sun and cloud. The nighttime low will be 16 C with a chance of showers.
