Relaxation of travel bans has opened up a world of possibilities, but not everyone is ready to fly to Fiji, Paris, or Pittsburgh. There is none.
But just below QEW from Toronto, there is a solution that skips the crowded airports, customs, and other annoyances that are often a symptom of modern travel.
Located on the sunny shores of Lake Ontario along the popular Burlington waterfront, the Pearl Hotel&Spais the newest luxury destination in southern Ontario.
My partner and I chose a short and sweet weekend vacation to Pearl. Not only is the pearl very close, but the atmosphere is a beautiful blend of familiar and new.
The first thing we did was to go to Pearl Spa for rejuvenation after a tough week (probably two years). Can be tough).
I chose the wonderful Mesoinfusion Hydration Body Treatment to relieve the pain, pain and stress of 2022. The mission has been completed.
My partner settled on the original dramatic healing facial. The spa offers a variety of signature facials and body treatments tailored to achieve your wellness goals, so choose the one that's right for you.
After more than an hour, we felt relaxed, rejuvenated and ready to challenge the world. But it will have to wait. Instead, we chose to sit around an appetizing pool, swim leisurely, and drink a soothing tea.
Then we sweated our rest of our worries and entered the traditional Hammam steam room. The steam was so cleansed that we made some intrusions into the sizzling, hydration room, followed by-of course-a cool swim. A spa is a must for your stay in Pearl. There are no ifs, ands, buts.
"A modern and calm atmosphere very close to home. It made me feel spoiled and refreshed," said partner Kelly.
By this time we had headed to our room. We had spectacular views of Lake Ontario and the bustling Burlington Waterfront, where an army of cyclists, rollerblades, pedestrians and runners gathered. Our accommodation was very modern in design, cozy and attractive. With the views mentioned above, free artisan chocolates, fluffy robes and luxurious beds, we had a hard time gathering together for dinner.
But we were finally happy to work together for dinner and head for the cute and popular Isabelle Restaurant.
Enjoy warm weather meals and specialty cocktails on the patio with its elegant open-concept layout and spectacular lakeside views. Isabelle offers excellent service and locally procured tasting plates using Ontario's finest ingredients cooked with an international twist and flair.
I started the feast on a plate of Castelvetrano olives preserved in lemon and then dug Iberico chorizo. Next is the delicious yellowtail crudo of sea buckthorn, furikake and shiso.
My partner doesn't eat lean meat: but I ate and tore the wagyu beef like a madman. The whole grill of Bran Gino with caper leaves and mint salsa verde was spectacular. I usually don't eat Brussels sprouts, but even I, the denial of the vegetables, couldn't resist the kimchi and sprinkle-flavored dishes.
The overall approach was for California and Europe to meet on a culinary Smörgås board. The restaurant is inspired by the owner, Grandma Pearl, who is famous for her hospitality. In fact, the hotel has its own 5-acre market garden where you can get lots of fresh organic produce.
In addition to luxurious dining, fine spa treatments and a contemporary Mondchill atmosphere, Pearl also offers meeting and event spaces.
But for us, it was a couple's hideout that was coveted for rejuvenation and connection. Mission complete.
