Tesla CEO Elon Musk said Tuesday that he supports moderate Republicans and moderate Democrats, just three months after announcing he would vote Republican.
"Let me be clear, I support the left half of the Republican Party and the right half of the Democratic Party!" He wrote on Twitter the day he was scheduled to attend a McCarthy fundraiser.
That fundraiser was to be held in Wyoming, but Republican Rep. After the Capitol was stormed on Sunday, former President Donald Trump faced a major challenger from within his own party that he backed. June 6, 2021.
Cheney was stripped of his leadership role in the House Republicans after criticizing Trump. He said he had voted before and would vote Republican in the future.
Musk has frequently commented on politics, saying earlier this summer that he was leaning toward supporting Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in the 2024 presidential election, and that Trump was getting older. He said he was too old to serve as president again.
In June, President Joe Biden compared Tesla unfavorably to Ford Motor Company, and after the billionaire expressed reservations about the economy, Mr. 'Good luck,' he sarcastically wished.
