The City of Vancouver decided to scrap the nickname of Trutch Street because it was named after a racist colonial leader. It's been over a year since. The new name doesn't seem to be fast enough for some.
Recently, at least nine street signs on his Trutch Street between Broadway and West 15thth Avenue were vandalized and read "Truth" Street .
The city said it became aware of the vandalism on August 3 and dispatched a crew to repair all of the altered signs on August 4.
A policy of segregation against indigenous peoples enacted by BC's first lieutenant governor, Joseph Trutch. Until his death in 1904, Tratch was considered an extreme racist.

Musqueam First Nation is leading the rename process.

"We will not allow people to destroy or touch anything there," Chief of Staff Wayne Sparrow said Friday. told Global News at night. "We have been working very hard with the city."
The new nickname will be announced on September 30, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
"Haunted our past leaders, our deceased ancestors. Trutch was a surveyor. He actually surveyed this existing reserve, hence the name removed. It was our leader at the time who said we should," said the sparrow.

On 10 July, the City of Victoria officially renamed Trach Street to Su'it Street. This means truth in Lekkungen.
The renaming of the capital took nearly five years and began with a student-led movement.
At his Su'it Street in his newly renamed two blocks in Victoria is Trutch's former mansion, now a heritage building.
