BEIJING (AP) — Myanmar's ambassador to China has died, the Chinese government said on Monday.
"I can confirm what you have mentioned," Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said in response to questions about Ambassador Myo Tang Pe's death report.
He did not say when the diplomat died or what the cause of death was.
Myo Thant Pe said he had been ambassador to China since 2019, he said Wang.
"He devoted himself to developing China-Myanmar relations," he said. "We mourn his sudden passing and express our deepest condolences and our deepest condolences to the bereaved families."
