The New York Jets placed offensive tackle Mekhi Becton on the injured list on Tuesday.

All 32 NFL teams had until 4 p.m. Cut the roster from 90 to 85 on ET Tuesday. His second cut from 85 to 80 will take place next Tuesday, after which all team rosters must be reduced to 53 by August 30.

Becton suffered an avulsion fracture of his right patella during practice last week. Keep him out for the entire 2022 season. Becton dislocated the same patella and sprained his right MCL in Week 1 of 2021 and missed the rest of the season.

Named as a potential solution for the Jets' left tackle in the 1st round of the 2020 draft, Becton joined his camp in training as the starting right tackle. .
